1. When did you find yourself in the world of words?
During college, it was my friend who identified my potential and asked me to give it a try. I had a small notepad with me to scribble whenever I felt like writing. But, 'writing' was not a passion at that time. Only when I had some rough phases in life, I started writing for solace that turned my world upside down now
2. What do you think about the newly emerged genre "Micro-fiction."
The world is evolving and changing, and we’ll have to adapt to it. The attention span of a normal human is less, so when one can give a powerful story with “Micro-fiction” why not? I’d say, yes! I love them.
3. How do you see social media?
A powerful medium. If not social media, newbie writers will never find the limelight. It would take it’s own sweet time to establish, but it works.
4. Tell us about your book/s.
My debut novel is “I don’t wear sunscreen,” it is a coming of age/chick lit novella that talks about the ups and downs in life. It is on the lines that life has it’s own way of pulling you out of the demons that you’re facing, and it will push you to shine.
The second novel is “Dirty Martini,” that’s releasing next month. It is published by story mirror publishing house. It falls under the New Adult Romance genre, and I’ve played a bit with erotic elements in the story. The novel is based on judgments and opinions we have about others; the novel would switch between 2 different timelines with two different voices throughout. Without any cliches, it is more a raw and life-like story.
5. A message for the writer's community...
The publishing industry in India is not streamlined enough, and there are many loopholes. Ensure to pick an author/writer as your mentor, do some research before you commit to anything/anyone related to publishing. Keep reading - there’s no other shortcut to writing better.
